I love the picture in this article - I got it through WIX AI picture generator - I wrote down 'AI' and this was the outcome. pretty impressive isn't it? Not to be cocky but I did it to foreshow my point of the series of articles I am planning about the subject.

I find it interesting how popular and commonly used AI has become when there is so much we, as a society, are yet to understand.

This refers to those experts and professionals who work with AI tools and technology on a daily basis of course, however, the simplicity with which the AI tools have become commonly used by the general public whether it is for seeking work advice, or health guidance makes this statement true on both the organisational business and the private levels. Information flows so easily and efficiently with AI tools but the security aftermath is still a riddle for many security professionals, including myself. Recently one of my closest colleagues has shown me with great pride how he taught his AI tool to perform an automated action which usually requires a team of three. When he showed it to me he showed surprise at the efficiency of the end product - that was my queue to start wondering - if someone like him (and in his field he is undeniably one of the brightest I had the pleasure to meet) is surprised then how much is still missing from the full AI picture? I asked him some questions which I usually ask customers as part of my risk assessment process and at some point we tried asking these questions to the AI tool. The result was strange - the AI tool managed to both answer us in a reassuring way and concerning way. first it stated it was unpenetrable. then I gave it a theoretical situation where it might become vulnerable to which it replied that in this case it might indeed be hacked and cause grave damage. I think AI is here to stay and I am as fond of it as many other users. However, for organisations, I believe we have a bigger need to better understand AI so we may work better and provide better security to us all.
